ROBOT HELL
OOC INFO
Name: Anna
Contact: You know how to get in touch with me B(
Other characters: IDW... Starscream... I'm a joke.
IC INFO
Name: Starscream
Canon/Continuity: Prime
Reference: UGH THIS IS SO MUCH EFFORT
Canon Point: End of S3
Personality:
The infamous Decepticon forces count a wide variety of scumbags amongst their number, but Starscream is widely regarded as one of the most unpleasant and The Biggest Piece of Work out of them all. Outwardly he is extremely arrogant; under the public eye he always carries himself highly and lords what power he has over his inferiors at every appropriate opportunity. What’s obvious to anyone with a lick of perceptiveness is that it’s all a facade that just barely covers some massive self esteem issues. Vanity is his worst vice, and he does not respond well to not being taken seriously, or any implications that he is, perhaps, not as good as he thinks he is. This is evident in the fact that he is prone to flying off the handle when harassed regarding his authority as second in command, or when he is called out on his constant attempts at trying to reach above his position. The canon examples of this are numerous: at one point in the intro mini series, when a character that he is holding as prisoner makes a cheeky joke about being displeased with service in the Decepticon holding cells and wanting to ‘speak to a manager’, Starscream gracefully responds by throwing a momentary tantrum, asserting that he is the one calling the shots and then retaliating with physical violence. He displays a similar reaction whenever he is referred to as “Commander” instead of “Lord” during the brief amount of time in which he was actually in charge of the Decepticons while Megatron was unable to command.
In his own twisted little mind, everything is Starscream's by right; he was accustomed to great privilege back on Cybertron (he tends to fling his former status as an air commander back on Cybertron around in particular, at one point using that tactic to try and get Airachnid to respect him. Unsurprisingly this doesn’t really have the intended effect), so he automatically considers most other beings beneath him; usually a firm display of force is the only thing direct enough to make him reconsider this position. When that does happen, he switches channels between authoritative and simpering with ridiculous ease, since at the core he is actually a gigantic coward. As soon as Starscream has calculated that a plan is going south, he is almost always the first to
jump ship in an attempt to save his own skin.
There is no person his inherent sycophancy comes into play with more than Megatron, his liege and master. Once upon a time Starscream respected the old bot, but years and years of war have changed things and Starscream now sees him as unhinged and unfit to rule. It is his constant, unyielding goal to seize power from Megatron, but so far all he’s proven is that he lacks the subtlety and foresight to actually pull it off, being particularly inept at hiding his true intentions and often prone to panicking when the slightest thing goes awry. More often than not his power grabs leave him wounded and begging for mercy.
In summary, the number one most pathetic thing this robot is that he has the combat skill and the mental capacity to be an effective and truly frightening foe…… but this is completely overshadowed by the worst personality imaginable.
AU Information: I'm bringing Starscream over from a shitty self-indulgent AU that you don't need to know the precise details of OK basically he's been stuck with no one but his Megatron for like, several months or so coming in from the end of S3 as canon point and right now he's having a lot of awkward moral confusion and weird emotional issues. Point is, he's at kind of a ideal point for either lashing out really badly or actually possibly being reluctantly helpful and getting positive CR, depending on how things go.
